Vitarium Crumpet Mix
Dec 29th
One day during the holidays we decided to have people over for brunch. We were having bacon and eggs but Mum also made some apple and oat muffins which weren’t gluten free. I therefore decided to make up the Vitarium Crumpet Mix I had in the cupboard.

I made the crumpets the night before because you have to let them sit for 90mins. However you are supposed to toast them before you eat them so it didn’t matter.
The crumpets were amazing, even the non coeliacs of the family said they tasted like crumpets. To prove how good they are More >
Chicken Caesar Salad
Dec 24th
The other night I was given the task of cooking dinner with chicken and whatever else I could find in the house. I managed to find some bacon, lettuce, eggs, Parmesan cheese and Caesar salad dressing so decided to make a chicken Caesar salad.
The Caesar salad dressing I used was Cardini’s (one of the only gluten free Caesar salad dressing I could find) which you can get in Coles.
All you need to do for the salad is firstly toss the chicken in peri peri seasoning and then cook. Hard boil the eggs and fry the bacon. On some lettuce leaves More >
Pizza Olla, Cammeray
Dec 23rd
Every week after tennis a selection of us go out for dinner, usually to a pub in North Sydney. However, being the last session of the year we decided to have a change and go out for dinner in Cammeray. In order to cater for dietary and craving requirements we decided on Pizza Olla in Cammeray. I had been there before and ordered one of the chicken pizza’s however this night I was craving a BBQ Meat Lovers.
The gluten free pizza comes in the regular size only and costs $2 extra than the glutenous ones. Much to my delight the BBQ More >
Rocky road
Dec 22nd
A couple of years ago my flatmate at the time brought home some rocky road that her work mate had made. Lucky for me my flat mate didn’t like rocky road so she gave it to me. The rocky road had to be the best that I had ever tasted so I asked for the recipe. However, for some reason or another I never got around to making the rocky road. This year though, since I am working on Christmas Eve, I decided to bring something yummy into work for everyone. I decided I would therefore make the rocky road, More >
Mini chive pancakes with sour cream and smoked salmon
Dec 21st
I was going to my parents place down the coast for Christmas drinks and Mum was making mini chive pancakes with sour cream and smoked salmon, a recipe taken from the Coles Christmas magazine. I remembered that I had a sample packet of Vitarium‘s pancake mix in the cupboard and therefore decided to make a few gluten free pancakes for myself.

I made up the pancakes, however added quite a lot more milk than the directions on the packet suggested as they were too thick. I also hadn’t realised that you were supposed to add chives to More >
Recipe: Southern Stollen
Dec 20th
At Christmas time I always look forward to my Mum’s baking including rum balls, Christmas cake and especially stollen. However since being gluten free I don’t get to indulge in these treats anymore. This year, though, I decided to make gluten free options of everything. I wasn’t going to make stollen as I was a little concerned about the large amount of flour and it therefore not working out, however because I love it so much I decided to give it a go.
My Mum has had her Southern Stollen recipe for years (it is taped together in a couple of More >
