Pork cutlets with creamy mustard sauce
Apr 28th
It’s starting to feel very wintery and so it’s time to get out those winter warming recipes! We had a copy of the April 2011 issue of BBC’s Australian Good Food Magazine at home and after having a flick through we decided that the “Pork cutlets with creamy mustard sauce” recipe sounded perfect for an autumn night. The recipe is taken from Manu Feidel’s new recipe book Manu’s French Kitchen and not only is it tasty but it is easy to make. Served with mashed potato (and sweet potato) and steamed greens it is the perfect winter warming meal!

Long Track Pantry, Jugiong
Apr 27th
Jugiong is a cute little town just off the Hume Highway in between Gundagai and Yass. With a population of about 250 people it may not be the first place on your list to visit, however if you happen to be in the area (which we were when driving back from our weekend away near Tumbarumba) you must go and visit the Long Track Pantry for breakfast, lunch or even just to take a look around!
We were told about the Long Track Cafe & Pantry by family friends who highly recommended a lunch visit and we were not disappointed.

Chocolate spiders
Apr 21st
Unusual these may sound, but they are such an easy and yummy treat. Great for Easter, perfect for Halloween (yes I know it’s awhile away but you can always file this recipe away until then!).
I haven’t had these in awhile as I used to make them with Chang’s Fried Noodles and like a lot of things I can’t eat these anymore. I was therefore very excited when I saw that Chang’s had released a gluten free version of these noodles, their Fried Rice Noodles. I picked up a packet the other day and decided to make some spiders for an Easter More >
Gluten free Hot Cross Buns recipe
Apr 20th
I dreamt of Hot Cross Buns last night… it may have been because I baked some before going to bed and the smell was wafting through the house.
There is nothing I love more at Easter time than the smell of Hot Cross Buns and after spotting this recipe on a fellow gluten free blogger’s blog I decided I had to try making my own. I have never made Hot Cross Buns before, even when I wasn’t coeliac, however there were many years of my life where I would only eat the fruitless Hot Cross Buns anyway.

ALDI’s gluten free range
Apr 19th
Thanks to the gluten free family I just found out that from this Thursday (21st April) ALDI in Australia will be stocking their gluten free range (Has No) until sold out. I personally have not tried any of the range yet as they only release them a couple of times a year but I have been told that they are really good (and cheap!).

Gluten free Hot Cross Buns
Apr 19th
Easter is only a couple of days away and everywhere you go you can’t seem to escape the sight and smell of chocolate and Hot Cross Buns. The chocolate part is no problem for those who are coealic or gluten intolerant as most chocolate is gluten free (Darrell Lea have even partnered with Sweet William to produce a range that has no chance of contamination unlike the rest of Darrell Lea’s range), however when it comes to Hot Cross Buns it’s a different ball game!
Last year at Easter time I managed to get my hands on some of Choices Bakery‘s More >
