You know when you hear about an idea and you wish you had thought of it… well that’s exactly what I thought when I heard about Allergy Riders.
Allergy Riders is a fun and simple food labelling systems for those with dairy, gluten, egg and nut allergies as well as those who choose to eat vegan. The range consists of cupcake baking cups and food flags.

Coco Chocolate – gluten free

The first time I walked into Coco Chocolate in Kirribilli it was in the middle of summer and therefore it was some ridiculously high temperature outside. As I walked into the air conditioned Coco Chocolate store I gave a sigh of relief to which the friendly staff member noted that they always keep their shop at an optimum temperature for the chocolate.

Basco Apricot & Apple Cereal

Last year I was lucky enough to be sent to the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove in Queensland for a work conference. When registering for the conference I specified my requirement for gluten free options and left it at that. Well let’s just say that over the three day conference I was more than impressed.

Gluten free lemon tart

Lemon custard tart reipe
Rather than making my own pastry I used the Sweet Shortcrust Pastry I had in the freezer from The Pastry Pantry. The tart was reasonably easy to make, however my sister gave me a fair bit of slack when it came out of the oven as it seemed there was a bit too much liquid making it rather sogggy. Though everyone enjoyed the tart and most even went back for seconds. More >
