MUMU Grill, Crows Nest
Mar 19th
I loved living in Cammeray because it was a short stroll to Crows Nest which contains a number of cute boutique clothes shops as well as wonderful cafes and restaurants. One of the restaurants I managed to get to whilst living in Cammeray was MUMU Grill. I received an email voucher from them for my birthday offering 50% off my bill so I rushed off to MUMU to have a final horrah with a friend before coming over to Canada.
We arrived a little early so took advantage of their bar area to have a glass of wine. Whilst sitting there we got More >
Village Idiot Bar & Grill, Revelstoke, Canada
Mar 18th
When I returned to Revelstoke for the second time (we were actually planning to drive straight through however due to a road closure we were stuck there for about four hours) I was planning to go back to Jus Juiced & Bean Caffe. However much to my disappointment (they had really good gluten free wraps) they had closed down since I was there in October 2011. We therefore decided to walk up and down the main street (which is rather short) to find another place for lunch. We stumbled across Village Idiot Bar & Grill which looked like a funky More >
Easter review: Gluten free Hot Cross Buns (Australia)
Mar 14th
One of my favourite things about Easter time is Hot Cross Buns. This is funny because I went through a stage where I would only eat fruit free Hot Cross Buns as I hated the taste of cooked raisins (if you are like this there are a few options for you below!).
Luckily in Australia there are a number of companies that make gluten free Hot Cross Buns (it seems they aren’t as easy to find in Canada – so if anyone knows where I can get them here please let me know!).
Here is a run down of some of the options More >
Earls, Canada
Mar 8th
Earls is one of my favourite places to eat dinner in Banff and it was a winner with my family when they came and visited too. It looks quite fancy and therefore the first time I went there I expected it to be rather expensive. However I was plesantly suprised, it has a great atmosphere, reaonsable prices, great service and a gluten free menu.
All three times I have been to Earls I have ordered the Los Cabos Chicken Tacos (two grilled white corn tortillas, spiced tomato poached chicken, melted cheddar and jalapeno jack cheese, avocado corn salsa, shredded lettuce and cabbage, honey lime More >
Phil’s Restaurant, Banff, Canada
Mar 7th
Phil’s is an American style diner open for breakfast and lunch in Banff. I had been told by a few people that it wasn’t that great but a couple of friends and I decided to test it out for brunch any way.
My first impression was that it probably hasn’t changed much since it opened in the early 1960′s, however it was cosy so I didn’t mind!
I wasn’t holding high hopes that they would have gluten free options as I found it very hard to find gluten free options in the US. I was therefore plesantly suprised to find they had More >
