Make your own muesli with MuesliMixer
Nov 25th
I was lucky enough to receive a sample of my very own blend of muesli from MuesliMixer, a company which allows you to create your own customised muesli from over 55 ingredients.
I had heard of MuesliMixer before but never got around to designing and ordering my own muesli. However with the lack of good gluten free muesli’s around this seemed like a great idea.
MuesliMixer has two types of gluten free bases, free and c’crunchy (rice puffs, rice flakes and sunflower seeds with a pinch of cinnamon) and free and tasty (rice flakes, puffed amaranth and buckwheat) and a number of More >
Boost Juice
Nov 24th
Now that the weather has finally heated up I often find myself craving a Boost Juice. I walk past the one at Chatswood one on a daily basis and have noticed the list of Oriental Delights! flavours. As far as I am aware these are not available at other Boost Juice’s and considering my love of lychee I decided to try one out.
Oriental Delights
I decided on the Lychee Crush, which consists of freshly squeezed orange, lychee, mango, sorbet & ice. While refreshing I was disappointed to find that the crush had a very strong mango flavour which disguised the lychee More >
The Wayzgoose Cafe, Leura
Nov 23rd
I have visited Leura many a times having lived in Bathurst for four years to attend university. However I had not been back since I moved back to Sydney until last weekend when we were in the Blue Moutains for a work conference.
On Saturday we decided to go for a bush walk and then have lunch in Leura and I was very excited to re-visit The Wayzgoose Cafe. Unfortunately since being diagnosed as a coeliac I can no longer have the signature dish at The Wayzgoose Cafe, Flowerpot Scones, however this gave me the chance to try some of their More >
Makoto Chatswood
Nov 22nd
I walk past the Makoto sushi train in Chatswood on a regular basis and there is often a queue outside. I had also heard from a work colleague that it was the best sushi train in Chatswood and so I decided to go and try it out.
Makoto Chatswood
On this day there wasn’t a queue out the door and I was seated immediately. Somehow they forgot to come over to take my drinks order, however I didn’t want to order a drink so it didn’t bother me.
I started off with some edamame which were perfectly salted and a good sized portion.

Mamak Chatswood update
Nov 18th
True to my word in a recent post I visited Mamak in Chatswood for a second and third time to try the other gluten free dishes on the menu.
Once again I was happy that I could walk straight in and not have to queue for a seat, though the place was still buzzing with people.
Having tried the Nasi Lemak last time, I decided that I would try the satay skewers and the Sambal Udang (stir-fried tiger prawns with fiery sambal sauce).
The Sambal Udang is on the lunch specials list for $11.50 (from memory) and comes with rice and some shredded carrot More >
Pattison’s Patisserie update: Chocolate Hazelnut Flourless cake
Nov 17th
Not so long ago I wrote a post about Pattison’s Patisserie, however since then I have come across a new favourite gluten free cake of theirs, the Chocolate Hazelnut Flourless cake.
The cake (which comes in a full size and also a mini muffin looking version) looks hard and dry on top, however it is very deceiving. Inside the cake is very moist and it tastes delicious! I even prefer this to the Fleur de Lys cake and have requested this for the gluten free option for upcoming birthday’s at work. The cake is a little pricey (the mini version costing about More >
