Wagamama
Nov 12th
I used to eat at Wagamama all the time and loved it. But after being diagnosed with coeliac disease I visited Wagamama in Sydney and found out that I could only eat one item on the menu and it was far from the best dish I had had there. So I didn’t go back for many years.
However the other day my friend and I needed to catch a quick bite to eat in London before heading to a musical so we decided to visit Wagamama.
When greeted by the host I asked him if there was a gluten free menu and More >
Baja Cantina, Glebe – gluten free friendly
Nov 7th
I absolutely love Mexican food. The great thing about Mexican is that they often use corn tortilla’s and if not they usually at least have them as an option. So it is not surprising that after the first visit to Baja Cantina in Glebe, where they give you the option of corn or flour tortilla’s, I fell in love. The problem is that in the (many) times that I have been back since my first visit, all but once I have stuck to what I ordered the first time, the steak Fajitas.
But let’s take a step back for a moment. More >
Sugar Lounge, Manly Beach
Jun 19th
This was another daily deal site purchase – a voucher for a meal at Sugar Lounge at Manly Beach. A couple of friends and I headed down one sunny Sydney day to indulge in some fancy food and drink (well fancier than most of my dining out choices).
First things first – cocktails! I went for the Sangria Royale which is a sangria of white wine, lychee nectar, passion fruit & mint. It was delicious and refreshing – perfect for the day.

Win a bag of Matcha tea from Zen Green Tea
May 29th
I have to say I go through my stages with green tea. There are times when I drink it quite often and then I usually go off it again. One of the things that puts me off is that if you don’t brew it for the exact right amount of time it can taste really bitter and just gross.
So I was rather intrigued when Erin from Zen Green Tea contacted me about their Matcha tea. Match tea is a rare green tea powder which apparently dissolves to form the smoothest green tea. Erin and co from Zen Green Tea, like More >
Quail breast fillets with pasta, chilli, fresh herbs and olive oil
May 8th
As with the spatchcock I received from Game Farm I wanted to make something simple with the Qual breast fillets I recieved from them. When you are cooking with such good quality meat it seems a shame to drown out it’s flavour with overpowering sauces. I therefore decided on the quail breast fillets with pasta, chilli, fresh herbs and olive oil recipe, once again from Game Farm’s website.
This dish was probably my favourite of all three that I cooked with Game Farm meat. Firstly it was easy to cook with as it was just the breast fillets but also because More >
Spatchcock with white wine, lemon and rosemary
Apr 23rd
With the spatchcock I received from Game Farm I decided to cook something reasonably simple and let the flavours of the bird come out. I therefore decided on the recipe from Game Farm’s website, spatchcock with white wine, lemon and rosemary.
The recipe was simple and quick to prepare and the flavours were delicious. Before receiving my package from Game Farm I had never considered cooking with any other bird except chicken (and turkey for Christmas). It was great to experiment with something new and I would love to cook with spatchcock again.
