Eveleigh Farmers’ Markets
Not long after I moved to Alexandria my friend introduced me to the Eveleigh Farmers’ Markets. When I went along with her for the first time I wasn’t expecting to buy anything – it was a nice day and therefore was perfect for a stroll to and around the markets.
I have been back many times since and what I love about them is not only the array of food on offer but the fact that the markets are full of the colour of flowers and fruit and there’s always a performer of some kind serenading the shoppers.
You can walk away from the markets with a full belly (even us glutards) after sampling the array of foods on offer including yoghurt, sausages, apples, strawberries, brownies, falafels and the list goes on. Not only is there often a gluten free stall there (Healthy Feast, a gluten free cafe in Leichhardt – more on that in another post) but there are a number of gluten free options on offer (not just the fruit and veggies).
The markets are held in the CarriageWorks (243 Wilson Street, Eveleigh) every Saturday from 8-1pm (except for festive breaks). Find out more information about the markets here
