Mexicali Fresh, Auckland
When in Auckland last week I was looking for a place for lunch in downtown Auckland. I had remembered walking past Mexicali Fresh the day before and decided to go in and have a look. I was so excited when I saw that the restaurant had a definition of gluten and listed all of its gluten free options on a TV screen.
The gluten free options are all dishes that aren’t served in flour tortillas. I therefore decided to have the chicken nachos with all of the toppings ( you pay an extra $1 to have guacamole however you can have as much spicy or mild salsa as you would like from the self serve area) and a bottomless soda (I was thirsty from walking around the shops all morning!).
The nachos were delicious. I often find at these places that you get a heap of chips and not many toppings but this wasn’t the case. It was a huge meal and highly satisfying.
The restaurant is very funky with all different coloured chairs which catch your eye!
I enjoyed my meal so much that I went to Mexicali Fresh for dinner another day while I was in Auckland and once again ordered the chicken nachos.
Do you have a favourite restaurant you go to over and over again?

Those nachos look amazing and how cute are those colored chairs? Just another reason I have to get to that part of the world!
