I attended a food blogger dinner at The Dip, an American style restaurant located in GOODGOD Bar. It took me quite awhile to work out where it was since I was looking for The Dip and not GOODGOD but after asking the bouncer I eventually decended the stairs into the eatery.

As there were so many of us we ordered some starters and sides to share including the grilled corn on the cob with lime mayo and chiptole salt and thick cut steak fries with chipotle mayo. Both of these I could eat and were very yummy (chipotle mayo is very popular in Canada and America with fries and especially sweet potato/yam fries and it is amazing – so much better than tomato sauce!).

For my main I decided on the pulled pork nachos (most of the menu is burgers or hot dogs so there was limited gluten free main options). These nachos were delicious – both pulled pork and nachos are very common in Canada and the US however putting these two dishes together made a great twist.

I was highly intrigued when I took at look at the dessert menu and noticed the ice cold guac – sweet avocado ice cream with strawberry salsa and waffle chips. I found out that everything was gluten free except the waffle chips so I asked for these on the side (I was sharing the dessert with a non coeliac). The ice cream was actually really nice. I preffered it without the strawberry salsa though – both parts tasted better on their own.

As you can see my photography skills improved over the night as I received tips from the other food bloggers.
