The Treehouse Hotel, North Sydney – part 2
Jun 2nd
I know I have already published a post on The Treehouse Hotel, however I have been back a couple of times since then so I thought I would share with you more of the gluten free options available, especially since they now have a new menu!
One lunch time when at The Treehouse Hotel for a client catch-up I decided to order the poached chicken salad. When the salad came out it had a Parmesan crust on top and I was a little suspicious. Since I prefer to be safe rather than sorry I asked the waiter if this crust was gluten More >
The Treehouse Hotel – North Sydney
Mar 10th
The Treehouse Hotel is one of North Sydney’s more recent editions to the food and drink scene. I found out about it from a client who is based in North Sydney and we decided to go there for lunch one day.
The Hotel is situated on the corner of Mount and Miller Streets on top of the cafe. As soon as you walk in the bright colours of the umbrellas catch your eye.
Walking into The Treehouse Hotel
Everything in the interior has been well thought out from the range of greenery to the garden gnomes on the table used for booking names.

Simple & Irresistible Thai, North Sydney
Feb 10th
We were looking for somewhere different to go for dinner on Wednesday night (we usually frequent one of the pubs in the area) and my friend mentioned there was a Thai place on the corner of Miller and Ridge Streets in North Sydney. I had never realised that Simple & Irresistible Thai was there, and being a lover of Thai I was excited to try it out.
As usual I checked that I could eat something first and the waitress told me just to choose something from the menu as most dishes could be made gluten free.

Pizza Olla, Cammeray
Dec 23rd
Every week after tennis a selection of us go out for dinner, usually to a pub in North Sydney. However, being the last session of the year we decided to have a change and go out for dinner in Cammeray. In order to cater for dietary and craving requirements we decided on Pizza Olla in Cammeray. I had been there before and ordered one of the chicken pizza’s however this night I was craving a BBQ Meat Lovers.
The gluten free pizza comes in the regular size only and costs $2 extra than the glutenous ones. Much to my delight the BBQ More >
The Union Hotel, North Sydney
Oct 27th
Each week after I play tennis with a group of club O2 members we go to dinner at a pub in North Sydney. There are a number to choose from including the Firehouse Hotel and the Rag & Famish Hotel however we often go to The Union Hotel as it is just down the road.
The Union Hotel current (Spring) menu
The Union Hotel is a great pub, especially in winter with the fireplace, but also in summer as it has a nice outdoor area. They also label all the gluten free options on their seasonal menus. Throughout the year I have tried a More >
Lavender Blue Cafe, McMahons Point
Oct 26th
I was given the task of finding a good cafe for a client lunch in North Sydney recently. I was looking for a nice cafe, nothing too flash but something a bit nicer than a pub lunch and also somewhere that I would be able to eat something!
Lavender Blue
Having lived in North Sydney for six months I often walked passed Lavender Blue but never actually ate there. It looks nice and inviting from the outside and the food menu also looked good. Even better when I gave them a call they said that a number of their lunch options were More >
