When I received an email inviting me to the launch of a 100% gluten and lactose free Italian restaurant I have to say I was very excited. It’s reasonably easy to find at least one gluten free dish on the menu at most restaurants, however it is great to go somewhere where you don’t have to ask questions and you can eat absolutely everything.

When I was first diagnosed with coeliac disease the best advice that was given to me (thanks to my aunt) was to join my local coeliac society. After doing a bit of research about The Coeliac Society of NSW I joined straight away. One of the things that caught my eye were the events that the society run including information sessions (for newly diagnosed coeliacs, or those who wish to update their knowledge) and cooking demonstrations.
